FIAT AUTO ARGENTINA: Study Case
Fiat S.p.A., (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino), is an Italian automobile manufacturer based in Turin. Fiat was founded in 1899 by a group of investors. During its more than a century long history, Fiat has also manufactured railway engines and carriages, military vehicles, and aircraft. As of 2009, according to its annual report of 2011, the Fiat group is the world's ninth largest carmaker which includes Fiat Auto, Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Magnetti Marelli with more than 50.000 employees in 24 countries around the world.
Fiat Auto Argentina is Fiat S.p.A. owned company, it has been present in Argentina since the beginning of the 20th century. There is a Fiat manufacturing plant in Cordoba which produces Siena and Palio models cars, acoording to its annual report of 2011 it was ranked 6th on the total sales by makes&models list in Argentina.
In order to start this study case, a environment analysis will be developed. Fiat Auto Argentina has different environmental factors that shape and influence its actual behaviour. These influences can be grouped and conceptualized in various ways so as to construct environmental models (HRM, Michel Muller, Richard Croucher and Ssan Leigh, 2008). To describe the external environment at Fiat Auto Argentina a PEST analysis will help to explain the external environment, it captures four important elements that influence broad organization decisions.
