Hazel hates this group, until one day Augustus Waters shows up. Augustus is currently in remission with osteosarcoma, which already took his right leg. Augustus takes an interest in Hazel and they begin to form a relationship. They both learn about life, death, and the memory they will leave behind.

Themes

Life, death, relationships, individual worth.

e) Why do we like it?

We really like this book because it gives us a lesson in life and teaches us that despite adversity will always be something that makes you succeed and also teaches us that there will be always someone for you to share moments worthwhile and make your life better.

We also particularly like the strength of both guys. Despite having a disease that kills them inside, they keep fighting and seeing life as a source of opportunities while still alive. Both Gus and Hazel are great characters that give us wonderful moments.

f) Would you recommend it? Why?

Yes, we would. Because in addition to entertain, the book shows us the world from another perspective and gives us a reason to go ahead regardless of the obstacles that life puts in front of us. It also shows us that life is not perfect because John Green does not sugarcoat the reality of the characters to please the reader, and the frankness with which he treats the subject is precisely one of its greatest triumphs.
