El desarrollo de la ciencia y el uso de la tecnología le han permitido al hombre transformar el medio ambiente. La explotación desmedida e irracional de los recursos naturales, el empleo de los mismos en la satisfacción de las necesidades, la demanda sin precedentes a la que el rápido crecimiento de la población humana, está produciendo un declive cada vez más acelerado en la calidad de éste y en su capacidad para sustentar la vida. La protección del medio ambiente se ha convertido en una prioridad, en una necesidad de primer orden para garantizar el desarrollo económico y social y, sobre todo, para la salud y la supervivencia de la especie humana en todo el planeta.

SUMMARY:

The development of the science and the use of the technology have allowed the man to transform the environment. The limitless and irrational exploitation of the natural resources, the employment of the same ones in the satisfaction of the necessities, the unprecedented demand to the one that the human population's quick growth, it is producing a more and more quick decline in the quality of this and in their capacity to sustain the life. The protection of the environment has become a priority, in a necessity of first order to guarantee the economic and social development and, mainly, for the health and the survival of the human species in the whole planet.
