Essay

The period after the World War II was defined by a mixture of international cooperation’s to rebuild Japan and Europe. These systems were challenged between the western Bloc and the Soviet Union that started a new war. This conflict focused on espionage and proxy wars. A war of ideological differences between United States and Soviet Union.

In that period the power was very important ,the country that had more nuclear weapons, or territory was considerate a superpower,a superpower is a state with a dominant position in the international system which has the ability to influence events and its own interests and project power on a worldwide scale to protect those interests,The British Empire transformed independent ,leaving the Soviet Union and the United States became the only two superpowers.

United States adopted democracy as his form of government in 1787,the U.S was a capitalist because they believed in an economic system base on the private ownership.

On the other hand the Soviet Union was communist because they believed that everything belongs to everybody and should be run by the government, and didn‘t agree with the private ownership.

After the war Germany was destroyed and had no functional government, it was divided into four occupation zones by the allies, East German was put under Soviet rule and West Germany was divided amongst France, Great Britain and The United States.

The United States had a plan to aid Europe which they gave $13 billions to Western European countries to rebuild, they believed that if this plan wasn‘t put in action all of Europe would turn to communist out of desperation, this plan was called “the Marshall plan”.

This was the beginning of the ideological conflict called “The Cold War“.

The Cold War was started in 1947 and ended in 1991;it was a state of tension between United States and USSR that had economic and political differences.

The Cold War was so named because the two superpowers had nuclear weapons. The war was psychological warfare and regular undirected confrontations through proxy wars.

The leaders that were in the power in that time were John .F. Kennedy was the president of United States and Nikita Khrushchev led the Soviet Union.

The conflict was expressed by many situations; Arms race was a competition with nuclear arms.

After many years of conflict Khrushchev orders a Wall built through Berlin to separate communist East Berlin from the rest of the city in 1961.

The citizens of Germany take of the Wall in 1989 and that was the end of the cold war.

The cold war was a war of ideologies because the both countries have a very different forms of thoughts,
