Personal Introduction

Throughout my life I have been given the opportunity to do and see wonderful things. However, given of these opportunities, hard work was the only way I was able to accomplish any of it.

I have been able to attend great schools and have been given opportunities to travel and experience once in a lifetime things. However these privileges have not come to me without earning them. I am very proud of the things I have accomplished in my life.

         Moving into my college years I was accepted to all of the schools I applied to which was an accomplishment in my eyes. I chose Manhattan College and have loved my life here. Being accepted into the college of my choice is an accomplishment that I am extremely proud of. I finished in the top five percent of my grade in high school and being accepted into college was a testament to all of the hard work I did leading up to that point.

        I am studying Marketing in the Business School here and I plan on being a fashion stylist after college. I have taken many steps in the direction to achieving my career goal. I created a fashion blog that has now been running successfully for two years. My blog is one of the biggest accomplishments in my fashion journey. I have been working extremely hard to maintain the blog and keep it updated. I have devoted a huge part of my life to my blog in hopes that it will lead me to more opportunities in the fashion industry. I have recently been offered job opportunities because of my blog with fashion designers, which is an accomplishment for me. People have started to notice me on the streets because they follow my blog, which is special to me and shows that my hard work has resulted in my blog becoming not only a part of my life but a part of many other peoples as well.

        I am currently working with a PR company in Manhattan for New York Fashion Week. I am working two runway shows during Fashion Week, which is a huge accomplishment in my life. Working Fashion Week is a dream for any person aspiring to be in the industry. Having the opportunity to work two shows at only twenty years old is a very big deal, which is something that I am proud of.

        Getting ones first paying job is also a very big accomplishment. I recently was offered a job to work at Michael Kors. I have never had a job before and being offered this job was a very big accomplishment in my life. I am able to further my knowledge of the fashion industry in one of the biggest brands in the world.

        Traveling is one of my favorite things to do and I have been blessed to be able to travel since I was little. However I decided to step out of my comfort zone of traveling with friends and family by going on a winter intersession with Manhattan College the winter of my freshman year. I traveled to Scandinavia by myself without anyone I knew for three weeks. I took a class while I was traveling to Sweden, Iceland and Norway as well. While traveling to three amazing countries I made friends who are still some of my best friends today. Studying abroad was a very big accomplishment because I had to adjust to different countries and adapt to things and people I was not familiar with.

I accomplished another study abroad session as I moved to Italy to study for six months. I lived and studied in Florence, Italy and it is the biggest accomplishment in my life to date. Studying abroad was not only the best experience it also forever changed my life. I met amazing friends and traveled to over ten countries and thirty cities. I lived in my very first apartment in a foreign country and had to fend completely for myself. I had to make connections with people in order to live comfortably and make the most of the time I was living in Italy. I was given so many opportunities to meet fashion designers while I was in Italy. I furthered my work in the fashion industry and was able to have new inspiration for the passion I have for this industry. While I lived in Italy I was able to see how different people live in different countries and see the happiness people have for life regardless of how they live it. This awakening and these experiences are definitely an accomplishment and an honor.

        I hope that I can further my life’s accomplishments by the time I graduate college and enter into the work force. I hope to use all the things I have accomplished and done in my life thus far and use them in a positive way to broaden my mind and help me accept what life throws at me good or bad. I have a focused mind that will take me to the next level on my success path and I am very excited about what is to come.

Rent Your Look is an online site that gives shoppers the “perfect outfit” for a fraction of the price. Rent Your Look will have clothes from popular retail and designer stores around the world on the website for rent or purchase. Rent Your Look will offer both men and women’s clothing. Shoppers will have the option of choosing from already put together, complete looks, which are styled by Jacquelyn Beaulieu for rent or purchase. Shoppers will also be able to browse the inventory freely and choose an unlimited amount of items to rent or purchase. This site is going to allow anyone the chance to have what he or she has been eyeing at the store for a short time and then return it without breaking the bank. This new trend of renting clothes is becoming one of the most successful shopping tactics because it allows people to own desired clothes for special events, vacation, dates, and everything in between (Fallon, 2014). Shoppers don’t need to commit to an article of clothing if they rent it, and if they end up loving it and needing it in their closet permanently, they have the option of not sending it back and buying it for the retail price. Rent Your Look is a website that encourages feeling your best always, and wants to be the bridge to wanting and having, even if its only for a little while!!

The complete looks that are styled weekly by Rent Your Look owner Jacquelyn Beaulieu will be available for rent for $30 with free delivery. These complete looks will also have similar options in case the shopper is looking for a variation of the styled look. These similar pieces will be available for rent or purchase as well.

        If the shopper is not interested in the styled looks, they have the option of freely browsing the site. They have the ability to create their own looks complete with shoes and accessories. The looks that the shopper creates will also be available for a rent price of $30 in total as a package deal. If the shopper is looking for only a few separate pieces, they have the option to choose an unlimited amount of items, which they will be able to rent for the set rent price that each separate item is.

        The package deals of $30 will not be offered for the designer items. These items will be offered at a specific rental price and will have the option of adding accessories and shoes for $15 in addition to the rental price for the designer garment chosen. The prices for these items have been chosen after extensively researching our biggest competitor Rent The Runway and after looking at the prices of the clothes from the retail stores we will be having on our site (Forbes, 2013).

         Sizes for both retail and designer brands will vary with the specific article of clothing. All sizes may not be available on the website at all times, depending on what is being rented out and what the inventory is at that time. This also occurs with shopping in stores, as some sizes may be sold out or unavailable. Most items will be first come first serve especially with the designer items as only a few of each garment will be available at the same time.

        Shoppers will have the items they have rented for a one-week period, with options for extended rental time. This time frame allows the shopper to wear the items if not once, multiple times and get the good use out of the items. Shoppers will also have the option to rent their order for a longer amount of time. However, after a month if the order is not returned, shoppers will be charged retail price for the items they did not send back in the correct time frame. We will put a hold on the credit card used until the items are returned and then the shopper will be charged the rental price for their shipment. This hold will be released after a month if the clothes are not returned and the shopper will be charged full price for the shipment. Disclaimers will be very visible on the website and each shopper will be notified of this policy throughout their entire checkout. Shoppers will also have the option to choose a dry cleaning service that Rent Your Look will cover at check out as well. Rent Your Look offers to cover any dry cleaning fee with a receipt attached to the order upon return, proving the use of the service. The fee for the dry cleaning will be taken off the bill and refunded to the shopper. If clothes are returned and are damaged in any way, and the shopper did not choose the dry cleaning service, they will be charged retail price for the item that is damaged. Rent Your Look also sends a prepaid, preaddressed envelope or box, depending on the size of the order, for the shopper to easily send back the clothes. Delivery is free with every purchase as well. If a shopper is renting for a special occasion, there is an option on the website to write any specific requirements, such as fashion tape or spanx needed for the garment. These specified extras would be included with rental, free of charge.
