A) Different ways to start a session in Microsoft

We can start a session in Microsoft Word in many different ways, but it depends on how Office 2010 is configured in the computer.

Procedure to start a session in word:

START BUTTON

1. Click in the START button

2. Select ALL PROGRAMS

3. Select MICROSOFT OFFICE

4. Click on MICROSOFT WORD 2010

DESKTOP

We can create a shortcut and place it in the desktop, then double click to the shortcut icon that is in the desktop.

B) Main elements of Word 2010 screen and its graphical environment of operation.

• Quick Access Toolbar: is the are where you can personalize the most used command buttons in Word. We can add or remove command buttons clicking on the arrow of the right side of the mouse and also we can determine the location of the toolbar.

• Title Bar: this shows the name of the file and the name of the application. It controls the buttons of minimize, maximize and close.

• File Menu: shows the backstage view, you can save, save as, open, close, information, recent, new, print, save and send, help, options and exit.

• Ribbon: you can unroll placing the mouse on the zone and scrolling the mouse, it has 3 sections:

-Home Tab

-Insert Tab

-Page Layout Tab

• Ruler: here we can observe the length or size of the tabulators, margins of the sheet and indents of the text.

• Status Bar: in this bar is observed the operations performed in the document: the page where it is the cursor of a total of pages, the number of words, the used dictionary, the different view buttons, the level and the side button of the zoom.

D) Procedure to create a document

When we start Word, by default it is opened a blank document and it is the initial name of Document1; if we want to generate another document you have to follow the next steps:

-Open the File Menu

-Click on the option New

-In the section Available Templates, select Blank document

-Click on the button Create

E) Procedure to save a document

There are many ways we can save a document, here are the most easy ways.

Procedure to save a document for the first time (save as):

1- It is displayed the File menu

2- Click on the option save as

3- Select the folder or place where you will store the document.

4- In filename, type the name of the file

5- Click on the button save

Procedure to save:

1. It is displayed the file menu

2. Click on the option save

Other procedure to save a document:

1. Click on the button save from the quick access toolbar.

F) Procedure to open a document

We can do this task if we have documents
