ERGONOMIC TABLES FOR CHESS TOURNAMENTS

ABSTRACT

Today Colombia and many countries around the world are the scenarios for the realization of important chess tournaments in which the players are exposed for long periods of time to inadequate postures associated with poor ergonomic conditions. During a tournament of this discipline, and in general during the execution of any game, requires a high level of concentration which is closely related to the comfort of the player, the foregoing constitutes the basis for the development of appropriate workstations that permit to guarantee optimum performance. Creates the need of the design of ergonomic tables that allow players to maintain a correct and comfortable body posture, these tables must have the necessary conditions so that the game been develop satisfactorily; This includes that the table has capacity to support the utensils designated by FIDE, mainly spaces for the clock game, forms, hydration of players, flags, letterheads, tabs and game board. This article shows in detail the use of anthropometric measures and its relationship with the design of ergonomic tables, considering the requirements of the FIDE from a virtual model (prototype of ergonomic table) for chess tournaments, which is designed to meet specifications of dimensions and materials.

RESUMEN

En la actualidad Colombia y muchos países alrededor del mundo son escenarios para la realización de importantes torneos de ajedrez en los cuales los jugadores están expuestos durante prolongados periodos de tiempo a posturas inadecuadas asociadas con condiciones ergonómicas deficientes. Durante un torneo de esta disciplina, y en general durante la ejecución de cualquier partida, se requiere un elevado nivel de concentración que está estrechamente relacionado con la comodidad que tenga el jugador, lo anterior constituye la base para el desarrollo de estaciones de trabajo adecuadas que permitan garantizar un óptimo desempeño. Surge la necesidad del diseño de mesas ergonómicas que permitan que los jugadores mantengan una postura corporal correcta y cómoda, estas mesas deben contar con las condiciones necesarias para que el juego se desarrolle satisfactoriamente; esto incluye que la mesa tenga capacidad para soportar los utensilios designados por la FIDE, principalmente espacios para el reloj de juego, las planillas, hidratación de los jugadores, banderas, membretes, fichas y tablero de juego.
