Basketball

is a team sport that can develop both indoor as outdoor, in which two sets of five players each try to score points, also called baskets or double and / or triple introducing a ball in a hoop placed 3 , 05 meters of soil from which hangs a network, which gives it a basket or basket.

History

It was invented by James Naismith, a physical education teacher, in December 1891 at the YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA. It is played with two teams of five people, for 4 periods or quarters of 10 (FIBA) or 12 4 (NBA) minutes each. At the end of the second quarter, takes a break, usually 15-20 minutes depending championship own regulations to which the party belongs.

Main rules of basketball

The ball may be thrown in any direction with one or both hands.

The ball can be beaten in any direction with one or both hands, but never with the fist.

A player can not run with the ball. The player must throw it from the place where you take it.

The ball must be held in or between the hands. The arms or body must not be used to hold.

Non-shouldering, holding, pushing, striking or tripping an opponent. The first infringement of this rule by any person shall count as a foul, the second shall disqualify him until there is a basket, or, if there was evident intent to cause injury, during the rest of the game. No substitution allowed the offender.

The foul is striking at the ball with the fist, violations of Rules 3 and 4 and described in regulation 5.

If a team makes three consecutive fouls (without the opponent made none in this range), there will be a point to their opponents.

The points will be achieved when the ball is thrown or beaten from the track, falls into the basket and stays there. If the ball rests on the edge and an opponent moves the basket, it counts as one point.

When the ball goes out of bounds, will be thrown into the field and played by the first person touching it. In case of doubt, the referee tosses the ball straight into the field. The thrower has five seconds. If it takes longer, the ball goes to the opponent.

The umpire, "umpire", sanctioned players and shall note the fouls, alert addition to "referee" (referee, see next point) when a team commits three consecutive fouls. Shall have power to disqualify men according to Rule 5.
