Descriptive Paragraph:

The garbage man, an old, dirty and creepy man from the neighborhood. He dresses in ripped stained clothing and an old kintted cap. When he takes a step, a special sound is heard, because one of his legs is crippled. He is heard coming down the block: step and clump! And slide, step and clump! and slide as he pulls his load down the alleys of the town. He goes digging for scraps of food in garbage cans. He feeds his chickens with these scraps and sell eggs he finds in the cans back to the people that provided him with the cans. I guess you can tell that the garbage man is not as mysterious as he looks.

Narrative Paragraph:

Then, Cofer’s childhood is narrated, with mama telling the story while aunt Laura is being engaged by its strong ideals. Later on, Maria’s and Aunt Nena’s story is explained by mamá and she gives strong explanations to support her story and how it is similar to someone else. Afterwards, Cofer describes her experience being raised as a navy brat who was both Puerto Rican and American and how María la loca influenced her. She wants to give us content about herself. All in all, Cofer includes ideals that women are being victimized or fooled by people, ending the story with laughter of women.
