This investigation gives a extensive definition of what is Solid and Hazardous Waste and it´s importance for our environment and health. From our simply dump in our house to the dangerous symbols in some materials wasted, it´s crucial to understand how this can affect our lives, our systems and our world. Solid waste is related to objects or particles that accumulate at the location where they are produced. There are two categories for the solid waste, the municipal solid waste and non-municipal solid waste.

The hazardous waste could sound more dangerous than solid waste, but both affect our lives. A practical definition for what hazardous waste is, could it be something that is considered toxic if it is harmful to human health.

¿Can we eradicate this? There are many forms of disposal for solid and hazardous waste and it is very important to know how can they be and how can we apply them to avoid the consequences.

Solid And Hazardous Waste:

Solid waste: Is a general term used to describe objects or particles that accumulate at the location where they are produced. The categories of solid waste are referred to as municipal solid waste and non-municipal solid waste, and these two types of waste vary by where the waste originates.

• Municipal solid waste refers to any non-liquid waste that is created by an individual person, household, small business, or institution, such as a school or hospital. This type of waste is commonly called trash or garbage and includes everyday items.
• Although municipal solid waste is what we as individuals are used to, there is another type of waste that produces much larger quantities of material. Non-municipal solid waste is any non-liquid waste that is created due to the production of a product. 

Hazardous Waste: What would you do if you found a container with a skull and crossbones on it or an image of a bomb exploding? For most people, these symbols would indicate that something dangerous was in the container. Luckily, we do not encounter these symbols often, but it is important to know what they mean.

These two symbols, along with several others, represent a form of hazardous waste, which is any solid or liquid waste that is considered toxic, chemically reactive, flammable or corrosive. In terms of hazardous waste, something is considered toxic if it is harmful to human health when a person is exposed to the substance through inhalation, ingestion or touch.

Disposing of the solid waste:

 Incineration accounts for most of the remainder, whereas composting of solid wastes accounts for only an insignificant amount. Selecting a disposal method depends almost entirely on costs, which in turn are likely to reflect local circumstances.

 Sanitary landfill is the cheapest satisfactory means of disposal, but only if suitable land is within economic range of the source of the wastes; typically, collection and transportation account for 75 percent of the total cost of solid waste management.
