Public Transportation Problems
Car or buses? Even since the invention of motor vehicles our ability to move around has improved dramatically. Cities have grown bigger thanks to this advance which enables everyone to go from one place to another regardless the distance in between. There are two specific reasons why people would rather not use the transportation system in my city.
One reason because citizens of Guayaquil don't take public transportation is safe it doesn't provides. Delinquency for example. Every day, many crimes are committed, and public transportation doesn't bring protection to its users, buses also leave you in dangerous areas and then you have to walk to your house. It probably could be reduced making longer the road drivers have to run. There are many accidents in public transportation, too. Some bus drivers don't pay attention on what they're doing or maybe they drive the bus while they are drunk. A way to solve this problem should be putting stronger penalties to make drives take care of their jobs.
Another reason, is that public transportation, is not comfortable. Especially, when people and students go back to their home buses get crowded and that's uncomfortable for people who take it, because they usually have to travel standing up all the road. Sometimes it get so crowded that users of this transportation system have to travel on the door of the bus. Drivers have to respect the limit of passengers and a new rule that only must permit people traveling on their seats and not standing up.
Authorities have to take action on public transportation problems to make the city a better place to life and help the environment, but to make it we have to change the image citizens have of public transportation. There will be a time when citizens won't take it.
