Anorexia Critique

This article talks mainly about what anorexia is, things that can lead to it, consequences, and who can develop the disorder. First it briefly explains what anorexia is, and then it goes to some of the things that can lead to it, consequences that anorexics suffer, and it ends with how it can be treated or even prevented.

I think this particular article could fall under the category of health disorders. It is mainly about anorexia and its consequences. It pretty much supports all the information in it, by giving examples and describing the changes that anorexia can bring to the victim. It has the point of informing the readers about anorexia and how sever it can get with the time. Based not only on my knowledge and research, but in my own experience, I can say that this article is reliable, because any information in it is truthful. I knew must of the information in it, but the thing that I did not know was that sometimes genetics have to do with this disorder.

When reading this article I learned that anorexia is more about emotional problems and feelings of rejection than food itself. Also that it brings with it more problems like depression, complications in kidney’s function, and others. But most important, I realized that if my friends and family wouldn’t have helped me with my disorder, it could have gotten really sever and lead me to something serious; that’s why when I saw all the problems that anorexia can bring, I couldn´t help thinking of the persons that literally saved me of falling into what is one of today’s most biggest problems around the teenagers, besides obesity.
