Oratory: “Ideas are our greatest weapons”
“¿Do we lose creativity as we age because of routine and habits?”
Today most people have a misperception about the loss of creativity and imagination in humans as they age. Through this oratory I’m going to prove that we do not lose our creativity or imagination, but we learn habits and get into routine which stops the natural flow of creativity.
As we get older reality hits us in many negative ways; we begin to be fear failure, ridicule and we get more self- conscious.
One of the most common mistakes is evaluating and creating at the same time. Almost everybody evaluate too soon and as a result create less. We must separate creation from evaluation, and from that point we will be able to create more and better.
At one point in our lives as humans we begin to fear of failure, this makes us avoid risks, which lead us to generate less new ideas. Usually no one wants to make mistakes or fail, only if we try to avoid failure, we will also avoid success. In conclusion when we lose the fear of failure we will be more successful.
The uncertainty in ourselves also gets in the way of our creativity as we get older. Even though we always have to have in mind that a certain level of doubt accompanies every creative act, we have to believe in our abilities to create and implement ideas. Most of this confidence comes from experience. Therefore if we do not implement the ideas just because we don’t have enough confidence in ourselves, we will never be able to be genuinely creative.
When we achieve goal of understanding that most of the really good ideas seem absurd at first, that failure is just a learning experience, and that nothing is impossible, we are on our way to become a more creative and confident person.
To end this oratory I would like to say that I think is not necessary to divide the world into possible and impossible, because with creativity and good ideas nothing is impossible. There are a million pathways to success and to keep creativity until the end of our days, because it’s very important in our lives.
