Reflection Statement
Introduction
This current report focuses on the research of ways engineers can make proper use of nanotechnology to rehabilitate the environment. From this topic, four main sections were developed each of them concerning a major type of pollution. OliverTian is covering the use of nanotechnology to control air pollution caused by CO2 and other pollutant gases. Daniela Valladares is researching nanomaterials that can remediate the effects of soil contamination. Jason Ruan is focusing on how this technology can be used to handle nuclear hazardous waste with the least environmental impact. As for me, my research is centered on the use of nanotechnology for the control and remediation of water pollution.
Work Completed to Date
My individual research on the control remediation of polluted water through the use of nanotechnology has been finished. The information I gathered focus in the description of the individual characteristics of nano-components that are being currently developed with the primary purpose of treating polluted water. Despite the variety of nano-components created with this purpose, nanotechnology still not the perfect solution, due to their production cost; nevertheless, is the still the most effective solution to deal with water pollution so far.(Kharisov, Dias & Karissova, 2014). A written draft of my individual research has been upload to the team’s chat group. Both my research and other individual tasks have matched the team’s established schedule.
Work to be Completed
Each of our team members has already completed their first research draft; however, the revision and proofreading of each of this draft still pendent. In addition, our original schedules have been altered due to the slow work progress in each section; we expect to be back in scheduled by June 26th. On this date, an extraordinary team meeting will be held to proofread and revised our individual work mutually. Immediately the next day we will meet to write the first draft of our final research report. This draft will be continuously edited and revised until reaching its final version by June 29th. From that date, until July 3rd daily micro meetings will be held to work in the design of the final presentation PowerPoint slides as well as for practicing and organizing said presentation.

[Khaisov, Dias, and Karissa article describe multiple technologies based on oil spill polluted water treatment. This article also provides numerous examples and a clear division of nano-components according to their individual characteristics which make it easier to understand how nanotechnology works.]
