Syrian Migrant Crisis
Over 9 million refuges have fled to several countries in the Middle East and Europe since March of 2011. Many neighboring countries like Lebanon are willing to accept refuges but rich neighboring countries are not with more than enough resources. Several gulf coast countries like Qatar and EUA are being criticized openly in social media by not accepting refugees. One of the main reasons they are not accepting refuges is that most of their foreign workers will also seek refuge conditions.
Others are fleeing to Europe by water or land. Most refugees that go by land cross borders illegally such as in order to reach Germany and Italy. Others flee to Africa and then go by sea to Italy. Water is also a really attractive option for the refugees, which go by rafts or lifeboats. Most of them are overcrowded with several adults and children onboard. Some of them don’t even make the trip with over 2,600 refugees drowned in the voyage to Italy and Greece. Others notice they are not going to make it so the try to swim and drown.
There have been many talks about how they will solve the crisis. Many EU council members have agreed to meet on September 14 discussing about quotas to divide refugees equally among countries. The chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel is a principal supporter of this idea but many leaders oppose due to lack of resources to support that amount of refugees. hola hola hola hola
