1. According to the article, why is it difficult for news reports to show objectivity in the way they present information?
It’s difficult to show complete objectivity in the reports, because they are written by people, journalists, interviewers or writers that have a point of view of the situation, so at the moment they are doing the report, sometimes the bias could affect the information and change it.
2. What are some examples of bias that can be found in portrayals of people and events in the news.
Some examples of bias are shown in the titles or in headlines, sometimes there is written the way the person that is writing sees the situation that he or she is going to talk about. Another example is on the photos that the article shows, the angles and the captions, sometimes makes it look different from what it really is.

1. What does each selection say about the way the news media influence the way people think about society?
The first selection tells us about the importance that the youth have in the news and how it is important to be informed. It also talks about the influence that the reporters and photographers have depending on their beliefs
The second selection talks about the importance of basic things in the newspaper and how it is made for readers wanting to read it. It also tells us about the photos and how the bias can alter the photos depending on the article.
2. Explain how the writers’ tone and organization in each article help them achieve their purposes.
The author's tone and organization help us divide and classify the information to make it easier to read and understand.
3. In What’s news? the author says that “media cater to their audience”. Explain this idea and describe how this applies to both selections.
This idea implies on doing reports that get to assume what their consumers want to see, hear or read about, but also they can lead to shorter/exciting stories just to grab the audience's attention.
4. Provide an example from the text to support question 3.
Some examples can be car crashes, fires, shootings, etc. All this because it is assured it will catch the attention of the spectators, making them interested in getting more information of the situation.
