ABSTRACT
This book tells part of the life of José Maria Villa a recognized and respected Colombian engineer, that was born Sopetrán, Antioquia in 1850, within a very close-knit family. At the age of 26 in 1873 he traveled to the United States to study mechanical engineering at the Stevens Institute of Technology, the career lasted 4 years of which only two course as a result of the wars in Colombia you removed the economic support; but he still managed to graduate in 1878 presenting a series of developments that step with honors earning the title of the best student in the history of the institute.
