Title: Agribusiness
Objective: To understand the differences between the conventional and organic production.
Materials: Three pots
Three corn plants
Tumbaco Soil
18% chemical fertilizer nitrogen
2.35% organic fertilizer nitrogen
Water
Procedure:
1. Treatment 1 or control:
In a pot put just soil with three corn plants.
2. Treatment 2, 18% chemical fertilizer nitrogen :
For the preparation for this pot first calculate the amount of nitrogen required.
Then weigh the amount in grams of chemical fertilizer and proceed to mix with the soil for this pot which shall also have three corn plants
3. Treatment 3, 2.35% organic fertilizer nitrogen :
For the preparation of this pot consider the difference in concentration of nitrogen that exists in 18% (chemical) and 2.25% (orgnanico) so that it requires 8 times the weight necessary for treatment 2 means that the 45g in the case of chemical fertilizer therefore be needed organic fertilizer 360g. also mix with the soil and prepare the pot with three corn plants
4. Label the treatments, place them in the greenhouse and conduct a thorough initial watering individually.
5. Collect daily data for two weeks
Results:
Minimum temperature of 19 ° C greenhouse
Greenhouse maximum temperature 25 ° C
Irrigation water 63 ml / pot / day
Soil pH 7.5 with chemical fertilizer
Control soil pH 7.0 or witness
Soil pH 6.5 with organic fertilizer
Chemical fertilizer
It did not react efficiently and the corn plant did not grow as we wished and it is not totally green.
In control
It really grew better than the other one and we can see many leaves.
Organic fertilizer
It grew faster and better than the other two, we can see it with a lot of leaves, green and healthy.
Conclusions:
This project was a challenge because we had to put all our knowledge to accomplish it. Determination was really important and commitment because we had to see the process and be aware of the changes and results.
After two weeks, the pictures above how the corn plants grow depending on what we had put. As can see the chemical fertilizer did not react efficiently and the corn plant did not grow as we wished and it is not totally green. But it is different with the plant that was in control, it really grew better than the other one and we can see many leaves. Finally the plant with organic fertilizer grew faster and better than the other two, we can see it with a lot of leaves, green and healthy.
In conclusion the organic fertilizer worked effectively and made the plant grow better. Another important fact is to take care of the
