What were the main turning points in the war?
The battle of Britain After Germany forced the allies out of France, they prepared for an invasion of the United Kingdom. In order to accomplish such a difficult mission the Germans needed air control of the English channel separating France from the United Kingdom but British forces began to develop sophisticated radar technology to combat German Luftwaffe; After heavy losses, Germany concluded that Britain could not be defeated and abandoned what they called “Operation Sea-Lion” and instead focused their efforts in conquering Russia
The invasion of Normandy (D Day)
The battle occurred when the United States and Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy (France) in order to invade and push back German forces lined up along the Atlantic wall. The United States landed at two beaches, The Allies hit the beaches of Normandy while simultaneously dropped paratroopers into France.
Battle of Stalingrad
The loss Battle of Stalingrad convinced the Allies that Hitler could be beaten, the city was important because it was an industrial field providing a major trade route between Caspian sea and Northern Russia.
