Creation of a Sensory Vest to help deaf people to understand the world

Nowadays the replacement of senses with technology is just not science fiction. Researchers has created a sensory vest which recognized signals from the world and transform them into different patterns. This essay will examine the arguments for and against this development. ** The operating principle of the sensory vest is simple, when you speak, the sound is getting captured by a tablet which recognize the patterns of your voice and transmitted that signal to the sensory vest which transform it into a vibration pattern. People can understand those patterns just learning how they make them feel. It is possible because in our brain only exits electrochemical signals, so we can communicate some external sensors with our brain by an electrical signal and amazingly this is possible because our brain doesn’t care about where is the information from.**

On the one hand, Sensory vest can be used to help deaf or blind people to recognize patterns from others. For instance, blind people can recognize the world using the sensory vest, just learning how the objects makes them feel. In addition, this technology represents a high step on medical support and an opportunity to expand our knowledge because our experience of reality is constrained by our Biology, we do not have the proper biological sensors to understand all the world. Another advantage is that this technology is cheap and everybody can get it. For example, it is four times cheaper than an implant and without a surgery, people just need to put the vest on. Finally, the vest is not heavy, even a child could wear it.

On the other hand, it could be hard for some people to understand the proper language of the sensory vest. For example, a young person would be tired after using this vest for a long time. Others think, it spends a lot of time to learn from the vest and definitely it will not help them. (any other negative aspect?)

In conclusion, the sensory vest is an amazing development which could help us to have a better understanding from the world and the most relevant point of this is the fact that we can be able to feel from the world and understand how the objects make us feel.
