EARLY GENETIC TESTING
These days the medicine has become really meaningful to the discovery of new diseases that unfortunately are appearing in the human body. One of the new, optional and innovated evaluations that contribute to identify risk of genetic diseases is genetic testing. This method or technique allow to the person know if she/he has a genetic disease and what are the treatments to prevent it. Additionally, this functional process can provide a sense of relief and help you to make decisions in the future about your health. Regarding this topic, I have came up with the idea that genetic testing focuses on examining people's abnornal genes that can affect their lifes and the life of their newborn babies. So based on this, the essay will be focused on understanding when you should get genetic testing and what are the benefits of it.
According to Angela Trapanier, co-director of the genetic counseling program at Wayne State University and president of the National Society of Genetic Counselors. "Genetic testing is ideally done before you start trying to get pregnant." This decision will help you to decide whether to get pregnant or consider other options such as sperm donation or adoption. Additionally, If you decide to have your child but you know that he/she has a huge risk of being diagnosed with any genetic disease, it's probable that your doctor will search for treatments earlier that can reduce the illness.
It's important to consider that this early genetic testing will allow to know if one of the parents carry the genetic disease. Unfortunately, this can be scary and schocking. However, it's meaningful not to feel guilty, anxious, and depressed because of it. For instance, I read the case of a boy named Dan who was diagnosed with Huntington's disease, but when he noticed this, he started to live the life of a risk taker. So what is important to keep in mind is that “Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” (Bernard, George, 1856-1950).
Lastly, it's important to highlight that genetic testing not only will help you to have a better understanding about the risk of a certain disease, but also it's a medical tool that will be really important to make decisions in the future such as change your lifestyle to reduce any genetic illness and be able to take medicines with the purporse to prevent any genetic disease. These actions will allow you not to be worried about any genetic disease.
As a conclusion, early genetic testing is the chance to prevent genetic illnesses that in the future could affect people's lifes. Furthermore, genetic testing can contribute to the discovery of new genetic diseases that are unknown. So by means of this process or evaluation, the medicine can increase highly its research towards biochemistry, anatomy and physiology. All of this is really
