Objective:

Calculate volumes of different geometric bodies.

Procedure:

First I open blackboard and I search my homework.

Then I start answering the rubric.

When I finish all the exercise I check if they were correct.

Finally I do the conclusion.

Results:

Obtain the volume and total area of the following rectangular prism.

Mariana needs to change the hot water tank of her house; she estimates that her family needs a tank which can hold at least 75 gallons. In a local store she found a tank with a diameter of 2ft and a height of 3ft. Determine by obtaining the volume if the tank will help Mariana with its family needs at home. Consider 1 gallon is 1337 cubic feet approx.

Find the volume and total area of an octagonal prism if its side measurement is 14mm and has a height of 28mm.

Find the volume of the following pyramid if its base is squared and each side measures 6cm.

Find the volume of the following circular cone, which has a height of 12cm and a base of 10cm.

Liliana is planning to give her Geometry teacher a Christmas gift. She has two boxes to choose: a cylinder with a diameter of 6 inches and 10 inches height, or a rectangular box with 9 inches on each side, 6 inches width and 9 inches height.

She is planning in embellishing the box with a ribbon and a bow, giving a total of two turns to the box.

a. Assuming that the gift can fit any box, in which one will she be using the least amount of wrapping paper?
b. Which box will need the least amount of ribbon? Ignore the quantity needed for the bow.

Conclusion:

What I learn in this topic are the formulas to know the volume of a figure and I think that is easy knowing the formulas.
