DAY OF THE SAINTS IN JUNIN

“Day saints” is a religious festival. It takes place for two days (on 1 and 2 November) in Junín.

Like every year different families of the Junín region await the first and second of November to meet and celebrate the dead with the best entertainments: Mass, flowers, food, bands, drinks, candles, coca leaf to remind the soul of that life was ... to the best of their tastes in music and food.

This event is celebrated with much wawas a baby shaped cake, wheat breads that are adorned with candy.

Already in the cemeteries mainly in rural areas hundreds of families gather that through rezadores, Vernacular singers, orchestras, etc.. carried their dead and drink at the foot of their niches. This custom is done mostly in the districts of Azapampa, Chongos Bajo, Chupuro, Huayucachi, Pucara, Umuto and other towns of the province of Jauja and Chupaca.

DÍA DE LOS SANTOS EN JUNIN

"Día de los santos" es una fiesta religiosa. Se lleva a cabo durante dos días (los días 1 y 2 de noviembre) en Junín.

Como cada año diferentes familias de la región Junín esperan el 1 y 2 de noviembre para reunirse y celebrar a sus difuntos con los mejores agasajos: misa, flores, comida, orquestas, bebidas, velas, hoja de coca para recordar al alma del que en vida fue… con lo mejor de sus gustos en música y comida.

Este evento se festeja con tanta wawas, un bizcocho en forma de bebé, que son panes de trigo adornados con dulces.

Ya en los cementerios principalmente de las zonas rurales se congregan cientos de familias, que por intermedio de rezadores, cantantes vernaculares, orquestas, etc. llevan a sus difuntos y beben al pie de sus nichos. Esta costumbre se realiza mayormente en los distritos de Azapampa, Chongos Bajo, Chupuro, Huayucachi, Pucará, Umuto y demás poblados de la provincia de Jauja y Chupaca.
