The power of a dream is the driving force to overcome all obstacles to reach it.
In of mice and men Steinbeck dramatizes the failure of two seasonal workers in their efforts to get a land property where they can lead independent and fulfilling life of happiness, the purpose will be thwarted and the American Dream fail. This interesting book has many symbols and teachings and leads us to think about how dreams the engine that drives human beings to become go ahead, but many fail dreams, dreaming, keeps you with strength, keeps you alive for trafficking to reach that goal.''
"Mind-house, George-beg lennie.
-then we would have a house with a room for us. With a little stove for those fat, and in winter would keep always on. There is plenty of land, so we would not have to work too. Six, seven hours a day, so you see we should not spend eleven hours daily when loading barley and sow something good we will be there to reap the harvest. We would know that out of our planting "[1]
The bonds of friendship helped estepar dream of Lennie and George laborers kept alive, they imagined that they already had their land with their animals, their neighbors and crops, which was inside the house, the stove, mill, pigs, chickens rabbits. They had a dependency on each other, despite the limitation of Lennie George encouraged him to move forward to overcome their own fears, while George looked after him, kept him from getting into trouble, and even by the thought. These two friends needed each other as much as we need, humans among ourselves. How would an old proverb "There is none so poor that they have to give and no one is so rich that it can not receive.
The way this book has a special meaning in the case of Lennie and George meant the future, meant a new stage of life, in this way may be fear, solitude and risk. But what drives you to continue to hope for the best at the end of this path as happens to all human beings who are fighting life.
Always on earth there will be people who abuse power, wrongly using it to harm other human beings, to violate their rights, to segregate that different. In this book of Mice and Men Curley who is the boss's son Ranch represents this abuse of power, at the slightest provocation uses his strength against the one below, takes advantage of a mental invalid to hit and damage without knowing that the end all that is returned caused the death of his unfaithful wife.
"In of mice and men Esteinbeck dramatizes the failure of two seasonal workers in their efforts to get their own land where they can live a full life and full of happiness" [2]
When we look at the situation of Lennie and George, we can find that many people like them are going through the same situations of segregation and abuse of power. So intimidated IDPs leave their land because they have the power in the subject area, abuse their rights and abuse to the point that they have to leave their land and go down a path of uncertainty of his sons seeking tranquility, peace, a new future, many have the dream of finding a new life, have a house, a plot and a bit of security. Like Lennie many never manage to reach his dream remains fractured, displaced many die on the way, yearning for what never came. But others do not be intimidated by the obstacles and the dream will always carry on, because at the end of each path is born a new one that will bring them new hope and difficulties. For many the failure of a dream is the beginning of a new one and vice versa the beginning of a new dream is to another.
