Job description
This position will be based in Bogota, where you will work closely with the operations team to design strategy for expanding Zipcar to South America, starting in Colombia. As part of the business development team, you will be responsible for telling the Zipcar story in order to attract more customers. Your primary responsibility will be to understand the market and the customer needs, to network, generate contacts for potential corporate and university clients, and to lead sales meetings. You will be responsible for listening deeply to customers’ needs and reporting back to the operations teams to better design our services to meet those needs.
We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills. You must be able to work in teams, be an excellent listener, understand business strategy, lead meetings, and write professional internal and external communications including emails, meeting agendas, and executive summaries. Project and budget management and event organization skills are important as the business development team organizes several important industry events each year. You must be able to work under pressure and get results on time. We are looking for effective and creative communicators who have the ability to explain complex ideas in simple ways and who like multitasking. Responsibilities
- Use your personal and professional network to generate corporate leads for Zipcar.
- Attend networking events and other functions to promote Zipcar.
- Attend weekly strategy, budgeting and reporting meetings.
- Reach monthly lead generation and sales goals.
- Discover customers’ needs and report to operations team and help develop product /service strategy.
- Tell the Zipcar story to anyone and everyone!
Experience
- Working towards Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (completed at least 4 semesters)
- Experience building personal and professional network
- Ability to work effectively in a lean, entrepreneurial, semi start-up environment
- Strong attention to detail, communicate professionally, and ability to manage multiple clients or projects at once
- Sales experience or strong desire to learn professional selling methodology
- Experience managing budgets, projects, and events
- Experience working with and leading teams
- Maintaining enthusiasm and calm demeanour in stressful situations
- Passion for Zipcar and our mission and ability to influence others
- Ability to travel throughout Colombia as needed
- Fluency in Spanish and English, and ability to work across cultures
