If I practiced Hinduism my spiritual practices would change a lot. As a Catholic I believe in the Holy Trinity and the Hindus don’t believe in it. But most importantly Hinduism belief and practices imply that the only means of salvation is “Reaching Enlightenment by The Path of knowledge, The Path of Devotion, or The Path of Good Deeds.” Having to believe that would be totally different than what I believe now. I believe that the only means of salvation is through Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection. The religion I practice and believe in shows me that our goal is to be a Christian and to Love God and Obey his Commandments while we created and strengthen our relationship with Jesus Christ our Savior and spread the gospel so that others may also be saved. But on the contrary Hinduism teachings show that their goal is to break the cycle of birth, death, and reincarnation and attain salvation. But I don’t believe in reincarnation as the Hindus believe. I believe our souls will rise again for the judgment and if we followed what Jesus Christ told us and showed us when he lived on this planet our soul will live for eternity in heaven. If on the contrary we disobey his commandments our souls will suffer and eternity in hell, but those whom have done both but still have a chance will suffer temporarily, in a place called the purgatory. Hindus believe they will reincarnate until they reach a state of perfection and pure enlightenment. Having to change my practices and follow what the Hindus believe would be totally off foe me, because I grew up in a Catholic Church and have no doubt about what I live and the teachings the bible show. We as Christians believe that Sunday is the day of the Lord but the Hindus pray differently. The Orthodox Schools prescribe three prayer times a day; at dawn, noon, and dusk. Having to do so will be really different I pray in the morning to thank God for another day of life and at night to give him thanks for all he has let me accomplish. But having to stop everything at noon in the middle of class or even work would be different. But I honestly believe that its good, to keep calling on Gods presence not only twice a day but during the whole day. My God has many names depending on the language you speak, some call him God, Gud, GoH, Deo, Dios, Jehova, YHWH, Eli, Elohim and Allah. But Hinduism call their God “Brahman”.
