Between the major influences on F. Scott Fitzgerald life and work, we can find different institutes, objects and people. The first influence that we can identify in F. Scott Fitzgerald life is his father, Edward Fitzgerald, because he was an example of the behaviour of a man of the Old South and its values. The second person that Fitzgerald was influenced by was Father Sigourney Fay, because he encouraged Fitzgerald to follow and achieve his ambitions for personal distinction and achievement (Bruccoli).
F. Scott Fitzgerald, was also influence by Princeton, because there he produced scripts and lyrics for Princeton Triangle Club musical and for the magazine of the institution. Later, we can find the influence of the army, because there he was convinced that he would die in the war, so he wrote a novel (Bruccoli).
The third person that Fitzgerald was influenced by was Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald, because she was the woman he was in love with, his wife. She caused many problems, she broke his heart and at the end she end living in different sanitariums. She and their son spend more money that he earned, causing him monetary problems (Bruccoli).
The fourth and last person that Fitzgerald was influenced by was his friend Ernest Hemingwayòthen, Hemingwayòthen personality and intelligence made a great impact on Fitzgerald life (Bruccoli).
Last, but not least, alcohol and Jazz Age caused a great role in Fitzgerald life, alcohol because of it he had many problems, his relationship with his wife decrease and it cause him a bad reputation; and Jazz Age because he became identified with it (Bruccoli).
