Adaptation of a unitary, democratic government

It may seem terrible to read this, but I didn’t know that five types of states existed. The one Cuba has established is unitary because they have a central government making “all” decisions like mandatory education and having equality in the economy. USA is one of the many countries that have a federal state, which consists in a strong, central government with a union of states. This type of government is the one many countries have used as an inspiration and adopt it. Devolved state is the one national government has granted more autonomy to regions and provinces, like Spain. Dubai has a confederation state, which is a loose union of states that agree to live under a single government. The last but not so famous type of state is the dependent, because has dependency on a “parent” station and Indians belong to this one. Since the Cuban revolution triumph succeeded, many people have united to change the ideas and interests to a future political change in the country. Three main aspects have affected Cuba for people to think about such change and are the collapse of European communism and the reintegration of Cuba into the world market; the leadership power and decisions of Fidel Castro, and the idea of creating democracy through Raul Castro (ctp). When the “Triunfo de la Revolucion” happened in 1959, Fidel Castro and his forces overthrew Fulgencio Batista because his dictatorship method was destroying the Island. This also happened with the attack Panama received do to Noriega in 1989. His connections with United States and the injustice caused Fidel Castro to come to power, promising he would have a new system similar to the “democratic” one. This plan sounded good for people because the dictatorship, like the one Panama had in the late 80’s, destroyed many families, killed innocent people and controlled the lives of many citizens. His method of governing became socialist, which people still accepted it, but then he just abused of all the power by adopting some communists and dictator ideas. Socialism central meaning is the common ownership, which he somehow applied because no one in Cuba is allowed to have more than others; equality among all citizens (world socialism…). In other words, he created a unitary state. In all his craziness, one of his rules was that no one could travel to the United States do to the bad relationship they established. Also kids couldn’t go out of the country until they turned 18 because he was scared that the childhood, future generation, could disappear and escape this “jail”. Castro also made the ones who didn’t support him, have a miserable life. He is very nationalist and controller causing again people to escape from Cuba. My country should make a change to democratic ruling because is time to stop the abuse of power Castro has created towards controlling everyone in such successful place; we should be a democratic, unitary country. The centralized government that Castro created applies as an internal sovereignty. His rules were just an abuse of power and weren’t really made with conscience, just with madness. Castro has helped Cuba to change but at the same time has harmed it economically and socially. People have the right to make an opinion on something or just live in a place without pressure and being scared of what the government decisions can cause. It is time to let the past, stay in the past and focus in the future, for a better stabilize country. “All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.” (Brainy quotes).

There is not such definition to democracy; it just shows an increasing tendency to become synonymous with everything in society that is good, beautiful and true. At some point, according to the UNESCO, countries would join to the wave of democracy (maxfrenkel). There are thee types of democracy which are direct, representative and liberal democracy. In this case, the type of democracy that could stabilize such disastrous country and maintain it with an order is the representative democracy. Basically consists on people electing representatives that vote for the decisions that should be implied on the country (samaunvong). The post revolutionary regime is one of the main causes and inspirations to modify the government to democracy because this people have lived two types of ruling that have not been successful and beneficial at all. With this new method, Cuba could change for good. A democratic transition would occur when all the reformers come up with an agreement. This country should adopt the democratic, unitary government that Panama also has and this is because of the many regions this country is made up. Is good to have one stabilize, strong government where there are representatives for each region and controls completely what happens because at the end, they could just unite all forces and be one assembly. Obviously, Cuba can give some advantage to the other regions because not all the laws are beneficial to everyone, but everything should be based on the new constitution created. This type of government could work because they can have an organize team where just everyone can contribute with ideas. This change would also help to support people don’t be afraid of the government, travel and stop escaping from their home country. Relations with United Sates could get better, meaning that they could help us for a couple of years to stabilize and become one single, strong nation again. Security is not a big problem, because since everyone has the same economic problems, people don’t still which maybe in a democratic government, that problem could arise. It would be socially attractive to come to Cuba because a variety
