Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional and political crisis. In so doing he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the national government and modernized the economy.

Early Life

Abraham Lincoln was born in February 12, 1809 in Hodgenville, Kentucky, U. S.

His parents were Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Lincoln from Kentucky. His spouse was Mary Todd. His children were four: Robert Todd, Eduard Baker, William Wallace and Thomas.

Reared in a poor family, when he was nine years his mother Nancy died of milk sickness in 1818. His older sister took care of him until 1819, later Sarah died at 20 while giving birth to her son. Then Thomas Lincoln has a new wife, Sarah Bush Johnston, mother of three children. Lincoln became very close to his stepmother. As grew into his teens, became an adopt axe man in his work building rail fences. Lincoln formal education concerted approximately of a years’ worth of classes from several itinerant teachers, he was self-educated and was an avid reader and often sought access to any new books in the village. In 1830, Lincoln family moved to the west, to Macon County in Illinois. In 1831, Lincoln family moved to Coles County, Illinois. At 22 years old move on his own, later in spring he was hired by New Salem businessman, Denton Offutt, to flatboat from New Salem to New Orleans via the Sangamon, Illinois and Mississippi rivers.

Lincoln wife’s was Mary Todd Lincoln, in November 4, 1842. They have four children that three of them died of different health conditions; the only one that lives to adulthood and have children was Robert.

Professional or Political Activities

Lincoln Worked as a Lawyer and Politician. His political party where: Whig from 1834 to 1854, Republican from 1854 to 1865 and National Union from 1864 to 1865. Lincoln gives military service in 1832. In 1834 to 1842, he was member of the Illinois House of Representatives. In 1847 to 1849, he was member of the U. S. House of Representatives from Illinois 7th district. In his campaign he run against, George B McClellan in 1864, with 212 Electoral Votes.

The Presidency

A protectionist customs policy, internal improvements and inflationary bank politics. He was elected as President of The United States and a failure was defeated in congressional elections for the Senate and Vice-Country.

End of Presidency

Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth by shot in the head in a theater.

Your thoughts

This President chose to learn more about. The most interesting was his struggle discovers the expansion of Slavery in the U.S. My opinion is that a man who liked to fight for what she wanted and never gives up.

Theodore Roosevelt was an American author, naturalist, explorer, historian, and politician who served as the 26th President of the United States. He was a leader of the Republican Party and founder of the Progressive Party. He is noted for his exuberant personality, range of interests and achievements, and his leadership of the Progressive Movement, as well as his "cowboy" persona and robust masculinity.

Early Life

Theodore Roosevelt was born October 27, 1858 in New York City. His parents were Theodore Roosevelt and Martha Stewart Bulloch. He has two sisters, one brother, one cousin, two nephews and two nieces.

Young Theodore was mostly home schooled by tutors and his parents. He entered Harvard College in 1876, during at Harvard; Roosevelt was active in rowing and boxing. Also he was a member of the Alpha Delta Philiberary society, the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, and Porcellian Club; he also was an editor of The Harvard Advocate. Roosevelt graduate from Harvard with an A. B. Magna Cum Laude in 1880.

He first Spouse was Alice Hathaway Lee from 1880 to 1886, when she died two days before giving birth to Alice Lee Roosevelt. His second wife was Edith Kermit Carow from 1886 to 1919, when Roosevelt died. They have five children: Theodore Roosevelt III, Kermit Roosevelt, Ethel Carow Roosevelt, Archibald Bulloch Roosevelt and Quentin Roosevelt.
