OLLANTAYTAMBO
Ollantaytambo is to 75 kilometers of Cusco , in direction to Machu Picchu, located to 2,800 meters on the level of the sea and with a temperature average of 21 ªC by year. It is a natural scenario located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK
It is divided into two sectors:
• THE QOSQO AYLLU, or currently inhabited by local people, immigrants and foreigners.
• ARAQAMA AYLLU, where the fortress itself with important buildings of the civilization of Tahuantinsuyo ,MAÑAY RACAY, called the aracma ayllu.
There is a huge pyramid,”LA ROCA DEL VIEJO” and a set of platforms.
DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS
Because of its characteristics is said that the resort had different functions. With its strategic location. Ollantaytambo was a military building erected to protect the capital of the Inca Empire of possible invasions of the Antis. It is also said to have been built to enable roads to Antisuyo. What no one disputes is that it was a heavily fortified city, surrounded by a wall with pukaras or strengths. The main one is called the Royal House of the Sun.

Many trekking options are available, such as Inca trail, Slakatay trek. Various adventurous sports are also taken from Cuzco.
