A Study in Scarlet
A Study in Scarlet is a book published in 1887 and belongs to the police and mystery genre by Arthur Conan Doyle, i really liked it because it’s the first book by Doyle where Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson appear. And it’s corious to know how they met because Watson was looking for an aparment and for a rommate to share the costs. I really Imagined that they had met because of a case or something like that, and that's why it was interesting to know how they really met. Another interesting thing is that althought Holmes is the main carácter, Watson always tells us how Sherlock is, his personality and what happens in the book under his perspective.
I really liked the structure of the book because it is divided in two parts, and i really like the trama in general because it’s a murder in abandoned house and for resolve the case they have to return to other murders 30 years ago.
It is very important the time in the book, specifically in London in the Victorian era, I like that at a glance to the London of that moment that makes me go further into the story. The first part it’s about deductions and investigations, another thing that i liked ir so much was that Holmes sees clues that the other detectives do not and while they follow false leads he follows the precise ones to solve the case, and in the second part we know who is the killer and obviously was the first suspect of Holmes, here the most interesting thing happens because he tells why he killed the man and I was surprised because I never thought the driver was the killer. This book made me admire Sherlock Holmes because he is so Smart, deductive and misteryous and It's not the same as the movies I have seen , the most important is the message that the book has left me is that we don’t have to judge what we have at first sight sometimes we have to observe a lot and carefully to understand things or persons to avoid problems and above all to follow the correct way like Holmes.
