Interviews start off simple and progress to a level appropriate to the course expectations.

REMEMBER: Don’t change the tense. If you are asked a question in the preterite, respond with the preterite.

REMEMBER: Don’t change the verb. Use the same verb as the interviewer uses in his question, unless it is “hacer.”

REMEMBER: Recycle as many elements from the question as possible in your answer.

No respondan simplemente “sí” o “no.” Sus preguntas y respuetas deben ser completas y bien desarroladas (well developed).

¿Qué hiciste ayer? ¿Trabajaste ayer? (use of preterite to say what you did yesterday, this morning, etc.)

¿Qué te gusta hacer? (You should be able to use gustar correctly to talk about things and activities you like)

¿Qué música te gusta? ¿Qué programas de televisión te gustan? ¿Qué tipo de películas prefieres?

¿Qué hora es ahora? ¿A qué hora es tu clase de español? (know difference between these two questions and responses)

¿Qué días tienes clase de español? (know the days of the week)

¿Qué estudias en la universidad? ¿Qué clase te gusta más? ¿Por qué? (be able to talk about classes and subjects)

¿Qué clases quieres tomar el próximo semestre? (or similar use of querer+verb)

¿Qué haces cuando tienes tiempo libre? ¿Qué haces los viernes por la noche? (know lots of verbs for activities)

¿Qué hiciste el verando pasado? ¿Qué vas a hacer este verano? (be able to speak about past, present, or future)

¿Qué tiempo hace? ¿Qué haces cuando hace calor/frío? (review how to talk about weather)

¿Qué deportes te gustan? ¿Practicas algún deporte? (know sports vocabulary, verbs)

¿Qué comidas te gustan? (build up a good vocabulary of foods and drink, know which verbs go with them)

¿Qué comiste en el almuerzo?

¿Te gusta ir de compras? (be able to talk about shopping, buying, types of stores, etc.)
