Dear Sir or Madame,

I am writing to apply for an internship in your banks international internship program.

I am currently studying my third year of the degree in Law at Universidad de Navarra, in Pamplona, Spain. I did some of my high school studies at Ireland and Boston. I have some working experience in dealing with people, for example as a Campsite Coordinator in Belgium and as waitress in a Hotel. Dealing with customers is one of my strengths and I am also a very good team worker. Despite the fact that my work experience is not really related to my degree, through it I have gained some tools that will be useful during my work life.

In particular I have learned how to respond to a range of people’s needs and to understand that people’s behavior is not always a rational response to their circumstances, and how to manage different situations with different kinds of people. For example, I worked with a child who was behaving aggressively towards other children and another who was withdrawn and unsociable; through play activities I learned that it was the former child who lacked self‐confidence and who needed the most encouragement of any in the group.

Working as a waitress I learnt not only how to deal with people, but also to work under pressure. It was not uncommon to be dealing with one customer as another sought help and as the phone began to ring.

The reason I am interested in joining the program stems from its reputation, even awarded with a Nobel Prize. I also admire the labor you do with the poor, especially with women, giving them access to loans as a way to getting a better life, leaving poorness behind and also as a way of learning.

I believe that my abilities for dealing with customers, working in a team and under pressure and my passion would make me a valuable asset to your bank.
