The autochthonous population from America is the aboriginal ones American. In spite of it, most of the residents from America are, according to their historical and cultural, Anglo-Saxon or Latin origin. These groups have origin in the times of the colony and later immigrations. In those first times, they also arrived to our continent some black residents that were brought as slaves.

At the moment, the inhabitants are not distributed evenly inside the American continent. The population concentrates on the big cities and wide uninhabited territories exist.

The reasons for they are it many and diverse:

- The relief and the climate

- The proximity to rivers and seas

- The economic activity

This allows him a high population density (more than 70 stocking h/km²) providing to their inhabitants high grades of comfort. The population's density in Europe is very unequal. The central Europe overcomes the 100 h/km², and even the 300 h/km² in the Low Countries. Around this nucleus population's density is located between 50 h/km² and the 100 h/km². In the Nordic countries they don't overcome the 25 h/km², and in the cold areas of these countries the demographic density doesn't overcome the 2 h/km².

Europe has, in the 2007, approximately, 810 million inhabitants. After the end of the demographic transition in all Europe the European population's growth has stagnated. The rates of natality and fecundity are very low, and also those of mortality.
