Supply Chain
A supply chain consists of all parties involved, directly or indirectly, in fulfilling a customer request. The supply chain includes the manufacturer, suppliers, transporters, warehouses, retailers, and customers themselves. Within each organization, such as manufacturer, the supply chain includes all functions involved in receiving and filling a customer request. These functions include, but are not limited to, new product development, marketing, operations, distribution, finance, and customer service.

- Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) designed the airplane.
Suppliers of parts:
- Wing tips are supplied by Korean Air Aerospace Division (KAL-ASD).
- Fixed trailing edge is supplied by Fuji, a Japanese company producing industrial products.
- Wings are supplied by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, a Japanese company dedicated to the development, production and sales of passenger airline supplies.
- Engine nacelles are developed by Goodrich, an American aerospace manufacturing company.
- Movable trailing edge is manufactured by Boeing Australia, Boeing's largest footprint outside the United States.
- Tail fin is manufactured in Frederickson, Washington by Boeing USA.
- The horizontal stabilizer and center fuselage is manufactured by Alenia Aeronautica, an aerospace company in Italy.
- Aft fuselage is manufactured by Vought, an American aerospace company.
- Passenger entry doors by Groupe Latecoere, an aircraft company based in Toulouse, France.
- Forward fuselage is manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries Aerospace Company, the aerospace division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
- Tip forward fuselage and the fixed and movable leading edge is manufactured by Spirit AeroSystems, an American-based company.
- Cargo/access door is manufactured by Saab, a Swedish aerospace and defence company.
- Landing gear is manufactured by Messier-Dowty, an English company involved in the design, development, manufacture and customer support of all types of aircraft landing gear.
- Engines are manufactured by GE Aviation, a subsidiary of General Electric (USA) and Derby & Hucknall, a branch of Rolls Royce (UK).
- Windows were supplied by PPG Industries, an American global supplier of paints, coatings, optical products, specialty materials, chemicals, glass, and fiberglass.
- Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are supplied by Kingbright, one of the leading manufacturers of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) based in Taiwan.
- Seats are supplied by RECARO Aircraft Seating, a Dallas based airplane seats supplier.
- In-flight entertainment (IFE) is supplied by Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC), an American supplier of in-flight entertainment equipment, including the armrest control, music, video on demand (movies and television shows), in-flight shopping, phone service and videogames.
- The sanitary units are supplied by Diehl Comfort Modules, a subsidary of German company, Diehl Aerosystems.
- The airplane carpet is manufactured by InterfaceFLOR, a subsidiary of Interface, Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of modular carpet for commercial and residential applications (USA).
- The Control Display Unit in the cockpit was specifically built for the Boeing 787-8 by Aeronautical Radio, Incorporated (ARINC), a major provider of transport communications and systems engineering based on the United States.
- The Vertical Situation Display in the cockpit is supplied by Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA).
