Description This parameter indicates the
transport media used for the user
plane connections with air interface
channel type and UMTS
traffic class based selection
method. In case of IP based Iub
only the value "IP Iub" is possible,
and with Dual Iub interface
the user plane connections
carried over the IP transport can
be controlled with other values.
In each transport bearer setup,
the RNC selects either ATM or IP
transport media for the new
transport bearer based on the
bitmask values (Common
Channel, Signaling Radio Bearer
or any other Radio Bearer setup).
If all of the values are zero, then
the traffic is carried on top of the
ATM. Bit value 0 means that the
corresponding traffic type is
carried over ATM. Bit value 1
means that the corresponding
traffic type is carried over IP.
To enable the IP transport, the
following licenses are required:
IP Based Iub: Bit 0, IP Iub, is the
only possible value once the
NBAP links are configured on top
of IP with the IPNB object. Dual
Iub: Bit 5 NRT DCH, Bit 1 NRT
HSDPA, Bit 2 NRT HSUPA Dual
Iub and Streaming QoS for
HSPA: Bit 3 Streaming HSDPA
and Bit 4 Streaming HSUPA If
the DCH NRT traffic is configured
to be carried over IP, then
HSDPA NRT and HSUPA NRT
must also be carried over the IP
transport path.
