Before you install anything on your iPads think about what kind of content needs to be secured. What happens if you lose your iPad and it gets hacked? If you don’t care about security and just want to get it setup, skip to step 6.

iPads are simple to hack if you use the standard 4 digit pin code. If you leave it in a taxi someone will be able to unlock the device and read your email or content. Or worse – one of your salespeople had too much fun at a trade show and lost his iPad somewhere in the middle of all of your biggest competitors. Ouch!

The first few tips will address how to:

• Secure your email and remotely delete.

• Control, manage, and monitor your iPad in the field

• Secure corporate content that is downloaded to iPad devices

After we cover the important stuff, we get to the fun part of setting up your iPad and showing how use the new Office 365 tools!

1: Simple Email Security with Office 2013 on iPad

Most people simply log in to their iPad and check email, but did you know that you can require users to enter their email password every time they open the Outlook Web App (OWA) for iPad?

and password every time it launches, and leave personal emails in the native iPad email app.

2: Stronger Security

Multi-Factor Authentication - A complicated name for an easy to use and highly secure password policy. If you ever had to reset a password for Windows Live or Hotmail you know the drill – you will get a call or text message.

Once this is setup you will need to enter your password, and then you’ll receive a text message or phone call with a passcode.

3: Manage your iPad

Enterprise management of iPad devices used to be expensive, but companies now have a few more choices. These tools allow:

• Remote patching and software installation

• Corporate security policy enforcement

• File encryption

• Remote device wipe
