“DIET FOR ATEENAGER”

Adolescence is a period of great physiological, emotional and social changes. The Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) defines a group of teenagers as the population between 10 and 19 years, but has no limits. During this period, growth is accelerated with a significant increase in size and body mass. The food is of special importance due to the high nutritional requirements to address these major changes at these ages.

“What should I eat”

The human body consists of cells that require the material and sufficient to perform their functions energy. But what nutrients we need? By eating fruits, meat, greens, seeds, etc., what gives us energy each of these foods? Require proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins and minerals.

What to eat?

All children, adolescents and adults have different nutritional needs, eg persons performing jobs with high physical activity need different diets to working in offices or for a woman who is pregnant. Our daily requirement varies with age , sex, physical condition and type of activity .

A complete or balanced diet needs to include foods from all food groups (grains, tubers, legumes , milk and water) appropriate to ensure that the body receives each of the nutrients.

“Healthy diet”

Healthy diet is understood that food intake helps maintain, restore or improve health. It is an automatic process, the product of culture, while a voluntary act that is conditioned by a variety of factors that determine a good or bad food .Proper nutrition is one of the pillars of health and development, helps to strengthen the immune system, less illness and enjoy better health. Healthy people are stronger, more productive, and better able to develop their full potential. You can lead a healthy diet by various foods whether of vegetable or animal origin. A balanced diet is considered, along with exercise , an important way to reduce the risks associated with obesity or hypertension and other diseases health.
