Peru's Fujimori suffers stroke in jail, now in stable condition
Fujimori’s stroke on early Friday morning has landed him in the hospital for the foreseeable future.
Peru’s former president, Alberto Fujimori, suffered a stroke early Friday and is currently in stable condition at a hospital.
The stroke was reportedly mild. However, according to the Associated Press, Fujimori has lost some control of his left upper arm.
“The situation is moderately serious, he can move his arm, but very slowly, he’s lost some of the sensation [in his arm], we’re hoping he recovers,” said a doctor treating the former president.
Doctor and congressman Alejandro Aguinaga told El Comercio that Fujimori is currently “Calm, with all of his memories, he’s speaking well, undergoing treatment, and he’ll stay [in the hospital] until tomorrow, we’re sure.”
Aguinaga also said that Fujimori has undergone several scans and tests. Doctors found evidence of two small strokes. The ex-president will continue to be monitored by hospital staff.
Fujimori is currently serving a 25-year sentence in Peruvian prison for crimes against humanity that were carried out under his administration. The former leader is also now on trial in the so-called “chicha press” case, in which he is accused of funneling defense funds into the pockets of tabloid newspaper editors in order to secure negative press coverage of his political opponents.

OPINIONS
• In my opinión, is much the years that Fujimori is in prison, many years have passed after all that happened during his government. And for his age that has FUJIMORI and the diseases that strike should be with his family and not alone in a jail.
• I think, the Justice must be partial to all the people who commit crimes and put the same years in prison as much as rapists and thieves.
QUESTIONS
• What do you think about the years of FUJIMORI under the jail?
