Read page 41 and answer the questions 1,2,3,4 using your own words.

1. Make a list of the main problems. What are possible reasons for these problems?

I think the principal problem is: Culture

Swedish people don’t know about Indian culture, and maybe they expect that people in India works in the same way as in their country.

2. How could management improve the situation?

Managers should be more open about the new ideas in India.

They need learn more about Indian culture.

Managers have to listen about necessities in the Indians employees.

They have to create an environment of confidence and communication in the company.

3. If you were relocated to a different country to work on a joint venture, how would you prepare yourself?

First, I need to know about the culture and traditions of the country, because sometimes I can do something wrong so I could offend people, and the most important thing: I must learn the language, I think is obligatory because is the way you communicate your ideas with people around.

4. Imagine someone in a different cultural background comes to work for your company for a year. How would you explain your work culture?

First I explain him/her about the area where I’m working, I show the different places in the company and I explain what the company does.

I tell him/ her about the rules in the company.

I introduce him/her with the teamwork and the CEO.
