Review of Mystic River
Mystic River is a film directed, co-produced and scored by Clint Eastwood in 2003, and starred by Sean Penn (awarded for the Best Actor in the Oscars) and Tim Robbins (awarded for the Best Supporting Actor in the Oscars). We might consider Mystic River as a drama because it explains several tragic stories which don’t have any sense of humor.
Mystic River is based on a novel by Dennis Lehane, which explains the story of three childhood friends, who are playing hockey in the street. Then one of them is surprisingly kidnapped by two men who felt like cops and wanted to punish people who did not behave well. However, Dave has the opportunity to escape of his captivity after 4 days. Some years later, once they are adults, the daughter of Jimmy, (one of the childhood friends) is suddenly killed by someone unknown, and that’s now when the real drama begins, because nobody is going to reveal the truth and their sins until the limit. Moreover, it is in this situation when we will figure out why is this film called “Mystic River”, and that’s because since the dead of the girl everyone is going to hide their sins in the river, and as the time goes we will find out the truth from everything.
In conclusion, I would strongly recommend this film because it tells you how tough and hard is live and also ends with a reflection about the acts of people, so, I think that it is a good film to everyone who have never had difficult experiences because they might learn very much about the decisions that you must do when you are in a difficult situation and the consequences that they entail.
