Shawshank Redemption

When the movie start we see a man that appears to be sad and angry, he is drinking alcohol inside his car. He is planning to kill someone because he has a gun in his hands.

Then we see Andy in a judgment because he apparently killed his wife and her lover. Andy insists that he didn’t kill them, but the lawyer shows enough evidence to declare him guilty of homicide.

Andy is send to Shawshank redemption prison. When he arrives to prison, all the prisoners start betting about who will be the first one to cry (because prisoners say that the first night at prison is the worst).

At the next day Andy was acting normal, just trying to get adapted to prison. Red was surprised about Andy´s behavior. And after a time Andy talks to Red because he want to ask for a tool that shapes rocks, because that was Andy´s hobby and he wants to do a chess.

Months later the warden asks for volunteers for doing a task in the roof of the prison. Red and his friends and Andy get chosen. When they were doing the job, Andy listen Hardley (the guard) talking that he has a financial problem, Andy told him that he can help him because he was vice-president of a bank and he knows a lot of that. Andy only asks for beers for Red and his friends, the guard obviously accept the offer.

Andy has a group in the prison that bothers him called “the sisters” the boss of the group (Bogs) wants to rape Andy since he arrives to prison. One day “the sisters” try to rape him again but Andy fight, in that fight the sisters hit very hard Andy so he finished in the nursing like for a month. Hadley (captain of the guards) hit Bogs very hard, making that Bogs get sent to another prison. Since that moment Andy wasn’t hit again.

The warden met Andy one day when the guards were checking the rooms. It appears like the warden like Andy because he was changed from the laundry to the library. In the library other guards start going with Andy to consult him about financial problems. The warden put Andy to solve his own financial problems; he was like his private accountant.

Andy wants to improve the library conditions, so he ask for funds for the library, the warden denied the request so he start sending letters to the government so they gave him some books and funds to improve prison library.

Brooks (the old man, Andy´s assistant in the library) wants to kill a friend because he noticed that he was going out of prison and he doesn’t want to go out. He has 50 years like prisoner so he preferred to stay because he was adapted to live there. At the end he goes out and he feels that he doesn’t belong to the outside life, so he suicide.

After six years of sending one letter per week Andy receive boxes with books and other stuffs for the library. He plays some music when the guard that was watching Andy was in the bathroom, the warden punishes him in like a special room isolated. When he goes out he start sending
