The best classroom interaction
Being a teacher is really difficult. It’s not just stand up in front of a class and start to teach, is more than that. To be a good teacher, you have to practice a lot and you have to know many things that will help you in the future in your classes, as for example, a classroom situation. I have read six of them, and I really liked the third and the fifth one, in the next paragraphs I will tell you why.
Accuracy is a skill that a teacher has to teach to his students, and to make it easier, we have the “classroom 3”; where the teacher is doing a short dialogue. I like this strategy because, it helps to students from low level to learn the correct pronunciation, and while they are learning, at the same time, they practice. Some students need to practice, one, two until three times the same word to pronounce it correctly; therefore, this activity is essential for them, because the teacher has to repeat the dialogue maybe twice and in that way, the student will learn the pronunciation and then put the word into a practice with a classmate.
On the other hand, we have the other essential skill, fluency. To practice this, we have the “classroom 5”. In this case, the teacher is having a discussion with his students about a determined topic. This strategy is my favorite, because there are many topics that you can choose, according to the age of your students, and in some cases, with their culture. As for example, if yours students are teenagers, you can make a little debate where you can talk about jealousy in a relationship, the point here is, make your students feel comfortable and relaxed in your class, while they are practicing different vocabulary. In this case, you can participate in the debate, but not so much, you can start and let your students continue with the debate, listening to their commentaries.
There are many forms to teach and practice with your students. You just have to choose your favorite and put it into practice.
