PRESENTACIÓN LHEN-DANCE
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, members of the Organizing Committee of Robocup 2017, members of the jury, participating teams and the general public.
We are the LHEN-DANCE team, we come from South America. Our country is Peru, world renowned for its millennial Inca culture, its tourist attractions and our delicious gastronomy. We are from Arequipa, it is located to the south of Peru, it´s called the White City for its constructions with base of sillar, stone that is made of lava from Misti, volcano at the foot of which our city grows.
We study in the National School “Nuestra Señora de la Asunción” in charge of the “Misioneras Dominicas del Rosario”. Our school will celebrate 90 years forming ladies in our country.
As a Robotics team, we have been participating in different local and national events for three years representing our school. In all this time, we have been able to reap our achievements with effort, perseverance and hard work, always learning from our mistakes, but above all, learning to love this science.
Our team is formed by Emely, Nasha, Heidi and me, Rosa. We are pleased to present a scene inspired by the queen and mistress of all the dances of Peru, the “Marinera Norteña”, dance that our great composer Abelardo Gamarra, named in tribute to the Peruvian navy and the great navy admiral Miguel Grau, who is a national hero. He fought in the Pacific’s ocean war on board his warship named Huascar. Miguel Grau is named “the great knight of the seas” because of his noble gestures.
In this Robocup Junior robotics world in the Onstage category, the members of the LHEN-Dance team are proud to show you a small part of the Peruvian culture. This dance in an emblem and cultural heritage of the nation born in Trujillo.
We want to show in mechanical ways the dance dynamics, based on a pair of dancers, the man is riding an special type of horse representative of our country called “caballo de paso”, that simulates dancing with elegant movements to impress his partner and the woman dance on foot with a splurge of coquetry, joy and freedom. We wanted to mix technology and culture to show the world a part of our national culture and the pride we feel of being Peruvians.
The prototypes we present reach a height of approximately 60 cm and are built with the VexCortex kits, it should be noted that in the national qualifying stage, these robots were only 20 cm and were built with Lego kits. Whit the support and work of the management staff, teachers, parents and students of our school, were able to acquire these new kits that have greatly improved our presentation. In our try to recreate the dance as best as possible, we have taken care of details of the original dress, presenting a traditional dress. The lady wears a dress in white with a red and white band, colors of our national flag, the man has a “poncho” made of brown cloth, a white scarf and a traditional hat of the north of our country.
