Raúl Osiel Marroquín Reyes (n. in Tampico, Tamaulipas, in 01/09/1980) was an assassin in series Mexican person in charge of 6 kidnappings, 4 of them finished with the death of his victims, perpetrated between January 21 and December 22, 2005, in CD. Of Mexico.
It was an assassin organized, motivated by hatred and sexual predator. All his victims were homosexual men, for which it has turned into a symbol of the homophobia into Mexico.
His life previous to the crimes
Marroquín Kings dealed a year of the career of military doctor and was a member of the Mexican army for four years, with the degree of The First Sergeant, but it caused fall. It was imprisoned in Tampico for 14 months lowered the post of violent theft.
Psychiatric profile
His crimes had many similarities to those of the assassin in American series John Wayne Gacy, being the a bit different mobile: Gacy was murdering his victims due to a repression of his own homosexuality that it was projecting towards the others (he was feeling attracted towards them, reason for which he was blaming them for his homosexuality). On the other hand, Marroquín, in spite of the fact that his crimes also were possessing marked features homoeróticos (the same Marroquín declared not to be a homosexual, 2 but his conduct denotes marked features homoeróticos), it is possible to estimate in him a sociópata or psychopath inside a sociocultural frame that, of one or other one it forms, it gave to him a shop window for his contained violence, directing her to a minority.
After his detention, Marroquín would declare not to be homophobic (though this affirmation would be contradicted by others done by the killer, where one says to the homosexuals as " an evil for the company ") that the principal reason of which they were homosexual men his victims owed to that these persons were easier to pirate; this one was the declaration that did the being questioned on his boss:
" ... for not battling in operations that were implying weapon and vehicles, only it was enough to go to the places that they were frequenting and alone they were approaching me, it was becoming me easier to treat these victims. " (Osiel Marroquín, Raúl. 2006)
He was lacking empathy and cosificaba to the persons around it. After being stopped one asked him that if it was not feeling bad for the relatives of the persons that it murdered (since obviously any human value had taken them from his victims), he answered:
“I have never thought about them. " (Osiel Marroquín, Raúl. 2006)
· it was proving to be unwilling to surrender to the social procedure and this was making it inclined to the diversion and the criminality.
· Was Lacking fault and was not accepting the responsibility on his acts.
· Was Rationalizing his acts and was possessing an inflated autoesteem. The clearest example of this was to express that his crimes were a good for the company:
" I did a good to him to the company, since these people do that I corrupted the infancy ... " (Osiel Marroquín, Raúl. 2006)
" One of my victims was a carrier of HIV, and of certain way, avoid the spread of the virus ... " (Osiel Marroquín, Raúl. 2006)
The one that was justifying his acts as correct speaks to us about his inflated autoesteem, one saw likewise as a benefactor of the company (an exterminating angel). This indicates also an overvaluation of yes the same (narcissism), which is indication of a psychosexual deficient development and an immaturity of the piscó-affective development; according to Robert D. Keppel and William J. Birnes estó, a disorder of the psychological development, is the principal reason of the conduct of an assassin in series.
These declarations also speak to us about a distancing of the reality. He was thinking that his acts had a moral justification, though it was fullly conscious of the ethical and juridical implications of his acts, was thinking that before the company his crimes were minor and up to justifiable. According to Joel Norris, this process (the distancing of the reality) corresponds to the first behavioral phase of a serial assassin.
Was inclined to the sexual perversions.
· He was feeling attracted and was in constant search of strong emotions; what also together with the absence of empathy, the egocentrism and the disability to accept the responsibility of his acts, they were making inclined to the diversion, the crime and the parafilias.
· Was a megalomaniac. His pathological attraction is estimated clearly in the torture that was submitting his victims: on having tortured one seeks to break the will of the individual to take off it of his human, and like that quality up to having absolute power, on the above mentioned person.
· Was charismatic, attractive and manipulative.
· Was violent and was suffering from explosions of ire.
· Was possessing a parasitic way of life.
His criminal career initiated it as an assailant, his motivation was monetary (his constant search of intense emotions and his pathological attraction for the power (megalomania), also they were explosive for his criminal conduct); later, of equal form motivated by the same factors, it evolved to the kidnapping, Marroquín was one of many persons in Mexico that they saw in the kidnapping a very lucrative activity (because in many of the cases already he had received the money of the rescue before murdering his victim), and finally to the homicide. As product of his activity like abductor it obtained a total of 109 thousand weights (little more than 10,000. Dollars).
