When deciding on what to include on my power point, I had to consider what my speech would be able to tell the audience. I knew I would have to make sure to include things such as the visual steps and some other minor information that I would not be able to explain with just my speech. I had to include the pictures of where and how to remove the tail light assembly because I knew I wasn’t going to bring in an entire assembly into class. These also help me keep time and track of where I was in my speech. Each slide helped me mark a point in my speech where I could switch topics or points. It was a great help to use a PowerPoint during this speech.

        The power point also helped me deliver my speech. It allowed me to organize my ideas in a different way, which actually helped me memorize it a little more. By laying the content out in a way that was simple enough for people to quickly understand, it allowed me to expand on it more easily. I feel that trying to explain how to do something like this without visuals would be near impossible. This PowerPoint is what allowed me to cover each important step in detail without overwhelming the audience. It did cause me to want to look at it to make sure which affected my eye contact a little. But I still felt I did a good job.

        For my prop I chose just a simple screwdriver and light bulbs. I chose the light bulbs because it allowed people to see what a broken one looked like against a good one. My tool was also helping me too show people how little you need for this task. These simple items helped me reinforce my topic.

        I didn’t have any trouble using my props because they were not a huge part of my presentation. My speech and my PowerPoint were more of the focus. My items were more of a addition to my presentation but they caused me no problems at all. I feel that I could have possibly brought in a taillight because I have the ability to do so. It would have been much more visually helpful and aided my speech even more.
