Born July 30, 1863, Henry Ford created the Ford Model T car in 1908 and went on to develop the assembly line mode of production, which revolutionized the industry. As a result, Ford sold millions of cars and became a famous director of the company. The company lost its dominance in the market, but it had a lasting impact on technological development and other U.S. infrastructure
Automaker Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863, on the family farm near Dearborn, Michigan. When Henry was 15, his father gave him a pocket watch, the young man quickly dismounted and remounted. Friends and neighbors were impressed and asked to arrange their watches too
Unsatistfied field work, Ford left home next year, at age 16, to take as an apprentice mechanic in Detroit. In the years that followed, he would learn to operate and service the steam engines with skill, and study accounting.
In 1888, Ford married Clara Ala Bryant and returned briefly to agriculture to support his wife and son, Edsel. But three years later, he was hired as an engineer for the Edison Illuminating Company. In 1883, his natural talent earned him a promotion to chief engineer.
At the same time, Ford developed its plans for a horseless carriage, and in 1896, built his first model, the Ford Quadricycle. In the same year, he attended a meeting of Edison executives and found auto submit their plans to Thomas Edison. The genius of enlightenment encouraged Ford to build a second and better model.
After some trial building cars and businesses, in 1903, Henry Ford created the Ford Motor Company. Ford introduced the Model T in October 1908, and for several years, the company recorded 100 percent increase.
