Everyone gets to a certain point of what they want to study and who they want to be in life, but I always have had a dream when I was little. I was always trying to investigate problems or investigate things of getting lost or taken. The first thing that came to my mind the first time I was asked what I wanted to study criminology came to mind. I want to help people, but most of all make people feel safe and protected. I want to be an investigator on crime scenes, but at the same time a special weapons and tactics officer everything under the criminal justice system. I feel like I have lots of qualities to do very well in this field not only physically, but mentally. But why did I choose criminology as a study? Well criminology is an empirical science which uses many techniques or methods of research, of which the most important are observation and experimentation, criminologists use empirical, inductive and interdisciplinary methods. The empirical method refers to the knowledge acquired through experience, reality, material, quantifiable things, this seems correct because the offenses are things that you can see real, quantifiable, too, and this method rejects spontaneous thoughts The inductance refers to observe facts and from them formulate hypotheses and then make them laws, and interdisciplinary refers to various disciplines collaborate to conduct research, all this together makes the task easier on criminologist. observations are essential in any investigation as this relates to closely observe a phenomenon you want to investigate, and in the case of criminology, I think is very useful since you can watch the offender to see if their behaviors are similar, and for which of these behaviors, you can also compare the profiles of these people to see if they have a physiological resemblance, as argued by criminologists of antiquity.

The use of legal psychology is also given to assess the mental state of people who choose crime, legal psychology includes the study, advice and intervention on human behavior that takes place in a regulated environment laws, are also called forensic psychology but psychology isn’t the only thing that works in criminology, but also sociology is used for the study of human beings and their social relations, as well as human societies. Sociology uses different methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis to develop and refine a body of knowledge about human social activity, in order to apply this knowledge for social welfare. Sociology studies all social phenomena from the target spectrum to the subjective, this is very useful because you can understand the environment that affects people who commit the crime. The biographies and autobiographies of criminals, are also objects of study criminology, since these all information required of a person is expressed, psychiatric evaluations as a research method for criminology are also performed and these are assessed if the offender has a mental illness such as psychosis, neurosis, personality disorders deviations and sexual disorders or mental retardation which it is disturbed as way that this commits the crime, it must be declared as if the offender suffers from a mental illness will relieve you of the guilt, because it is considered incapable to make decisions Criminology is Interdisciplinary, therefore, the statistical treatment to be given to it will depend on the interest of the investigation and the particular materials that address. The qualitative and survey methods are used when the case is analyzed. Quantitative methods are used when what is pretend obtain descriptive data regarding the behavior of population groups, and hence infer valid conclusions for the entire population. Today has gained extraordinary significance analysis
