Can empowerment lead to greater job satisfaction?
Understand the organizational behavior has never been as important as in the present. One of the important factors that operate in the organizations would support such an assertion. For example, the restructuring of companies and the reduction of costs are factors of productivity; global competition requires that employees are more flexible and learn to cope with the rapid changes and innovations. In other words, the organizational behavior faces many challenges and has many opportunities today.
Who comprises the organizations, are concerned about the improvement of organizational behavior. In the field of work managers and the employees are employed at team, which there affects the quality of life that happens in the work place. In this context, managers representing the administrative system (who make the decisions) should try to know the bases of the organizational behavior as a means to improve the relations between the people and the organization. Managers seek to create an environment in which people feel motivated, work more productively, and more efficient.
It is sometimes difficult to distinguish between motivation and job satisfaction. The same is true between job satisfaction and employee ethic. Job satisfaction designates, basically, a set of attitudes to work. We can describe it as a psychological disposition of the subject toward his work (what you think of him), and this represents a group of attitudes and feelings.
Empowerment in the workplace and the job satisfaction also have an impact on the employees' commitment inside companies. Employees who are responsible are more prone to believe in the mission and values of the organization that they do not have the power to make decisions in their work activities. A high level of commitment to the organization in general, leads to a greater attention to the workers to their jobs and the reduction in turnover.
