                                                      Monuments  

Monuments are structures that the city builds in memorial of something or someone important for the country city or state. Most of the time the monuments commemorate people that have done something good for the people of their nation. But they can also be houses or buildings that belong also to important people.  

A very notable monument is the Angel of independence because to Mexico it symbolizes something very important which is  the liberty and freedom that mexico got when it win the war of Independence.  

This monument is located in Paseo de la reforma in Mexico City. It is a big tall pole and the bottom of the pole it has information and many people takes pictures there. On the top is the angel and it looks just like a person but it has al the characteristics of an angel and its golden. It is very beautiful. It was made by Antonio Rivas Mercado in the 19th century and it was inaugurated the 16th of September of 1910 as an event for the centenary of the independence of Mexico.

The Independence Angel inspires Mexico to be strong and it reminds us of another country tried to rule our country we fought for that and we won because we were strong and did what we had to, fight for what was fair for Mexico. I think it is one of the most or it’s the most important monument in Mexico. It symbolizes one of our biggest achivements and I would like to recognize that.
